Xiao lab received two grants

Recently our lab received two grants to support our research! The first grant was from the Environmental Health Sciences Research Center to support our study on the relationship between pesticide use and diabetes risk in a large cohort of farmers from Iowa and North Carolina, with a special emphasis on the role of melatonin pathway and circadian genes. The second grant was from the Iowa Social Science Research Center and the Central Plains Research Data Center. This award will support our research on neighborhood social and physical environment and sleep behavior in NHANES. More specifically, we will study the effects of light at night, noise exposure, and socioeconomic deprivation on sleep duration and quality.
